1. Compliance and regulation

InterviewBot Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office in London (ICO number ZA786459). The company is committed to protecting the integrity and privacy of users' personal data. Personal data means any information which can identify an individual. We are subject to, and compliant with, the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of 2016. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we store it, and when we delete it. We are responsible for ensuring that any data which customers entrust us with is:

  • Secure
  • Viewed only by those who really need to view it
  • Limited to what is needed
  • Accurate and up to date
  • Available to be seen by its owner on request
  • Not shared with third parties
  • Easily amended if incorrect
  • Deleted after it is no longer required

2. Definition of terms

For the purposes of this policy, personal data includes any personal information captured at registration, as well as any identifiers based on subscribing schools, colleges or university groups.

3. What does InterviewBot do?

InterviewBot helps candidates prepare for upcoming interviews. Customers can choose to download pre-recorded video interview questions or to experience simulated video interviews with pre-recorded interview questions, and try out their answers on screen. These answers are not recorded.

4. What personal data does InterviewBot collect?

At registration, InterviewBot captures the user's

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Category of interview (e.g. Finance, Marketing etc)
  • Source of referral e.g. Google
  • Any promotional code they may be using at the point of payment

In addition to the above, we may also capture certain data automatically from users' devices, e.g. whether they are accessing the website via a desktop, tablet, phone or other mobile device. This data may include their device type, unique device identification numbers, screen resolution, browser-type, source country, and other technical information.

Although users can be shown in a live interview simulation on screen, no interviews are recorded on the system. No user video of any kind is recorded on the site.

5. Why does InterviewBot collect this data?

Collecting this data helps us

  • to understand the makeup of our users
  • to personalise our services
  • to identify returning customers
  • to provide a better user experience
  • to provide a resized mobile-responsive screen display if appropriate
  • to serve up appropriate interview questions
  • to understand the effectiveness of advertising and partnerships
  • to inform the future development of the site

6. Third parties

All the data collected is for InterviewBot's own internal purposes. We never sell personal data to third parties.

7. What about payment data?

Payment and credit card data is not captured by InterviewBot onsite but by our external payment platform managed by Stripe. No payment data is captured by the InterviewBot site. Stripe's privacy policy is available to view here.

8. Cookies

We use cookies to help us understand how the website is being used and to personalize the website for users. This website also uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. The information generated by the cookies is used by Google for the purpose of evaluating customers' use of the website. Data processed by Google Analytics is processed under Google's privacy notice, which can be found here.

9. International data transfers

No personal data is transferred to other countries.

10. Data protection rights

Customers have the following data protection rights in respect of personal data collected by InterviewBot:

  • If customers wish to request access to, or correct, or update or request deletion of their personal information, they can do so at any time by contacting us using the contact details provided below.
  • Customers have the right to opt out of marketing communications which we may send them following their interview. Customers can exercise this right by clicking on the "unsubscribe" link in the emails we send out.
  • Customers have the right to complain about our collection and use of their personal information by contacting the appropriate local data protection authority (in the case of the UK, the ICO.)

We respond to all requests we receive from individuals wishing to exercise their data protection rights in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Customers will need to supply the email they used to sign in.

11. Deletion of data

User emails are generally deleted 12 months after they have been collected.

12. Updates to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy from time to time in response to changing legal, technical or business developments, without seeking the approval of our customers. The date of the most recent version of this Privacy Policy appears at the top of this page.
